thank you Nina, I honestly do not know what is written there, but just the images, the separation, the sacrifice, really I could not stop a tear from shedding, its a very bitter phase and Kaname's revival is a relief but it would feel so much better having Yuuki by his side, cause that was all that he ever fought for and loved and cherished.

Even though Hino's message at the end is optimistic for Kaname saying happier days will come than the ones that he lived. So I am keeping the last part, anyway what else is there to keep? since Hino just put a tomb there for Zero and Yuuki as characters do not exist at the end of the manga.

I guess that Kaname is trully immortal after all since Hino that way passed him to us to go on for him better days and years and stories. Other than that the story is truly sad and disappointing. But for the plot I do not want to discuss now, perhaps later.

Thanks Nina for posting the link to the Chinese scans! cheers

Can I just take this moment to rant about how disappointed I am at the end. And I know I'm not the only one. What happened to the delicate intricate planning of the first 48 chapters where things were confusing but eventually all the strands came together in a neat little bow. This second arc - all the strands got tangled in a knot and it seemed to just all collapse on itself at the end. I'm mixed between being annoyed and just disappointed. scratch

TLT - though I never cared for it and honestly doesn't stand on either side, I can totally understand either ship's frustration at the lack of a definitive ending. There will always be debates on whether Zeki is a default end and fans from either ship (not all, but some) will fight on to the bitter end. Yes, there's some of us who can simply accept the fact that Yuuki loved the both of them, but debates will continue to rage. Personally, I can accept that Yuuki loved them both but am slightly annoyed at the ambiguous ending. It seems too much like a case of having the cake and getting to eat it too. Life doesn't work that way. You can't get everything you want and in this case, Yuuki can't have them both. This ending feels like a cop-out - just my personal opinion.

Side characters - I'm so disappointed that they didn't even get a mention. In almost all of the mangas I've read so far, the last chapter always does a fan service. Fruits Basket, Special A etc. Yes, the story ultimately revolves around the main characters, but the last chapter is all about that final farewell to this manga series and giving everyone an ending. What do we get? One image of each of them. No explanation. No details of their future. Zilch. Ugh. Yes, TLT is ultimate and reigns supreme in VK but can't we at least say goodbye to all the characters we fell in love with in the first story arc. Shiki. Rima. Akatsuki. Ruka. Ichijou. Hanabusa. Seiren. etc. etc. I don't want just a picture of them and for me to imagine what happened to them. That's what the last chapter is for! Again, my personal opinion.

Sorry, I'm quite irate at this chapter and this is my initial response. Sorry if you guys take offence to what I've written or don't agree with some (or all) of what I've written. I think once I calm down, I might come up with less polarising opinions. Sad

Well I won’t say much either because I have a feeling that I would be the dissonance once again…

However seeing the scans the first thought I got was; thank god I knew that Kaname is alive in the end cuz otherwise I wouldn’t have survived till the last page… no kiddin!
And I still cannot believe how “we managed” to save Kaname from Hino’s callous claws! *shivers*
My god so much misery I cannot handle it… the woman is really, really stingy, figuratively speaking… “no one must be entirely happy… in Hino’s brain that must be the graver sin!” … tsk

Juliet wrote: I guess that Kaname is trully immortal after all since Hino that way passed him to us to go on for him better days and years and stories.

Aaaaah yes my baby… HE IS LARGER THAN LIFE and thankfully now larger than VK as well! I guess it might be the only thing that me and Hino have in common hahaha

Anyway I gotta go for now… laters

    @witlessfool you’re welcome ^^

The first pages where Kaname throughs his heart in the fire was so heartbreaking. I'm getting a headache because of all the crying I did since yesterday.
I agree that there were a lot of plot holes. The end was rushed and Hino-sensei never let go of the LT and the ending wasn't the best. There are so many flaws, yet the ending is growing on me.
Come to think of it, before chapter 91 and 92, we had almost no hopes for Kaname surviving.
About the ships, I think neither of them won. I'm not sad about this one. I can't explain it but Kaname has a place in Yuuki's heart that no one, not even Zero could replace. Someone has already mentioned this, but Yume ended like Titanic. Of course plot wise Titanic is a master piece and VK is cheese with lot's of holes, but still...I can't explain it but I undrestand Yuuki's decisions. I'm going crazy, I know! sSig_busted
Anyways. Thanks for the link Nina-san. I can't wait for the translation. I'm crying a river now but when the translation is here, I'll be crying a sea.

Thanks for the link Nina-san. I can't wait for the translation. I'm crying a river now but when the translation is here, I'll be crying a sea.

Same here, it is just so much altruism and love, light in Kaname's sacrifice and decision, the way he just hugs both of them there, the way Yuuki cries and the decision to offer to him her life as much as he did to her...so much altruism there, that i can not stand it, honestly.

This second arc - all the strands got tangled in a knot and it seemed to just all collapse on itself at the end. I'm mixed between being annoyed and just disappointed.

You are right and you are saying just a few. Honestly I think that Hino totally destroyed Vampire Knight with no clear storyline, not enough direction, plot, consideration for the characters psychology, nothing. All about impressions. Even to the end.

    Thanks for the links @nina

You guys have no idea how disappointed I am at the end!
I was so sure it was gonna be YuMe Happy ending, and the masterpiece was gonna end with all the fans happy, but NO the mangaka decided to Troll ALL her fans with a bullshit like thta,so what?for me it wasn't a Zeki happy ending, cause Zero died and Yuuki was alone with a sleeping Kaname there,She only did that:
1-If Yuuki can't have Kaname,I'm just gonna pick the another guy, like he was some kinda "thing" for her,not a human, she was "only" happy to have Zero's company, but EVERYONE IN THIS FORUM KNOWS THAT THE REAL PERSON YUUKI WANTED TO HAVE AS A PARTNER FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE IS KANAME!
    Yuuki wanted this man
her lines about Kaname always were:
-"I love you!I love you! you're the begining of my world!
I want to stay with you for the rest of our lives!
If you wanna have him,you can have him!
I just want this mans blood!
    I only desire you!
I can only be with Kaname!"

Her quotes were always so full of passion and love

But in the final we only get a Human Kaname that doesn't remember a thing and is told that his woman is dead and he had a dauguter saying that she wanted him to live a happy human life, just as she lived!

I just want to say:What kind of Piece of Crap have you created here Hino?seriously?
I knew before that she mentioned that it was not gonna be such a happy ending....but this?
The only thing i can be happy for is that Kaname is alive,That's the only thing she did well done in the manga, the ONLY THING,CAUSE SHE GOT US NO FANSERVICE FOR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS,AND NOT A FOUNDATION OF WHAT HAPPENED WITH ALL THE WAR,AND ABOUT:Kaien,Shiki,Rima,Yori,Takuma,Ichijo,Ruka,Akatsuki,Hanabusa,Seiren,ANYONE?
Even if i got the manga already translated my reaction would be the same
I'm so angry now i won't be able to calm myself for at least 3 months guys,i have quite a temper for things,i can't accept this ending

I'm breaking the chair again guys!
This mind of me will keep frozen from this last chapter for about 10 YEARS OF MY LIFE!
THE ENDING FOR ME WILL ALWAYS BE KANAME ASKING YUUKI FOR MARRIAGE

AT LEAST THIS WILL KEEP ME AWAY FROM THIS ENDING
SO THAT I DON'T NEED TO CRY ANYMORE
GUYS,I'LL BE MARRYING KANAME INSTEAD,LATER CHECK OUT MY PHOTOS OF THIS INCREDIBLE PARTY,WE'LL BE HAPPY CAUSE HE'S MINE NOW,YUUKI IS A SLUT HE DOESN'T NEED HER,HE NEEDS ME A CARING AND GENTLE WOMAN
We're gonna be happy together FOREVER!

THIS MANGA JUST BECAME A MEME NOW

TO CLOSE WITH GOLDEN KEY I'M GONNA SAY:KANAME,I STILL LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART!YOU'RE EVERYTHING TO ME!

    ^ omg, yes i agree!

    thanks nina for the link!

what the hell was hino thinking? what is this s***? Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
i mean, what the heck is going on? what about a pairing ending? i wouldn't have cared (well...but i'd survive) if she'd done a real zeki ending, but come one it's a hangover and a killjoy. after all that drama and expectations, we're left with ashes and tears.

don't get me wrong, i'm thrilled that kaname is alive, but hell, i still say him turning into a human is a bit of an insult. sure, it' nice for him to be able to get a nice start, but what about when his memories come back?
    what about yuuki?
crap what a dismal memory loss.
and zero? after all that work him getting it all together, and then poof byebye.
not happy. come on hino, you just ruined everything!!!!!

idk, this is just soooo disappointing and honestly it's still sinking in, and anyway i will reserve final judgement once full translated ch are out.

it's kinda sad when i read all these things about how yuuki is a slut and that Hino gave us a "crap" ending.. think about it this way. we all know yuuki loved both men correct?

ok well like kaname said in chapter 49 i think.. page 16 kaname said he already knows that a part of her heart is attached to him (zero) and that he doesn't care, also knowing that she would suffer forever due to not being able to be with both at the same time ( now that would be considered a "slut" ).

Anyway.. my point is yuuki was with zero after who knows how long zero waited, he wasn't going to force her to return his feelings, so he waited. after that Zero passed away *TEARS* and Aidou - who continues the research kaname started for a cure to turn vampires into humans, helped yuuki in bringing back kaname's heart from the furnace, i'm guessing there are no more level-Es or troublesome vampires. so kaname wakes up as a human to receive the message from his daughter and step-son(so i assume). and even in the end she never stopped loving either one of them.

So she thought the best way to show how much she loves him is to give him a new life, and like everyone keeps saying. he deserves a second chance at life/love.

all in all i think this was a very good manga and i love the ending seeing as kaname was released from a curse wrapped in blood and death that he lived for at least 10,000 years.

no, I am sorry the quality of the script is awful, people pay to buy this kind of story with no basic storyline, a good necessity that could justify the causes, a heroine that could make the difference in bringing salvations..they do pay, if she did it for free then yes that would be okay, even though even fanfictions (free ones) are better structured than VK's second arc. So wasted money in my opinion. Hino did not deserve this because a plot with such a mess anyone could do this. She can draw but not write. This is a fact for me.

Hino created expectations, I am not talking about the boys here, like script/plot expectations that she never delivered, just made them and then puff!! explosive explosive explosive explosive I am not against your opinion, personally I believe that Hino meant to describe a tragic love story where altruism and pure love surpasses the egos and the hates and there is the tragic bitter-sweet ending with the heroine giving her life to the one who gave also his life for her and that's it, there is a bond there bigger than time * so Hino highlighted this unparalleled bond many times, no complaints.

BUT there were many ways to show all these, many directions to go, and choose the worst where strings do not tie up with each other and so much more; slow development, wasted panels, wrong messages, unreasoned decisions that do not make sense because they contradict with prior notions, MG so much examples that I would not know how to go through it all.

I think that in overall all of this do count on how a reader sees/perceives the grand finale >

there was just one thing left for Yuuki to do so that she could justify her importance and this Hino did not allow it. So what is left? a very bitter taste that all amounted to nothing and all the second arc was just a hilarious chase after Kaname/ that did not achieve to change anything at the end. So what was the point after all? And what was the initial scope of everything?

I do not get it. Nobody does. And at least at the end there was some kind of expectation "Ah, she is going to fix one things or two...", but no, Hino could not even decide if she wanted an LT or a tragic love story or a tragic story with an LT.

With all this I do not think that the story is tragic but Hino indeed she was tragic.

She could have done much better work with so many years ahead to present a plot where the reader would not bang his head at the walls, after each turn page.

LOL, I did not mean to come out or you or anything but I feel that everybody here is justified to rant about the whole plot after so much torture. Do not misunderstand this, okay Razz

I still can't believe the angry PBs couldn't go past a few hunters with cracking weapons and even fewer noble vampires. catastrophy
Edit: Thanks for the link Juliet-san.
So there was no other way for Kaname to wake up.
The whole thing with the cure was a little strange. I'm guessing there are no Vampires anymore. Maybe Yuuki's children took the cure too.

I already looked at the Full Raws and Translation and man,This doesn't convince me at all,Hino made a lot of Holes on this story that could've been a Best Seller!
Only if she didn't killed Yuuki and made her stay with Kaname forever,i thought that Isaya would sacrifice himself to save Kaname and Allow Yuuki to stay with him, even if a 1000 years passed and Yuuki's still there with both Kaname and Zero's sons i think she could've made it better with a YuMe Happy ending!
But no she TROLLED US ALL!

I am also still crying here...so beautiful lines that I do not know which to pick up...

this is a thing with Hino she is very good with LINES but just lines NOT story lines...

They say that there's a man with dark honey-colored hair there, smiling.
Student F: Eh...I want to see that...

I guess because Kaname ended his life in Yuuki's arms, and uniting Zero with Yuuki

That shadowed presence is protecting each boring day.

    Kaname: What beautiful light...

I guess that Kaname was light himself, who else would ever care and give so much? I think that Hino literally made him a hero (but unfortunately with a very bad plot) and literally gave him eternity to live in scripts.

Honestly it's so sad and happy all together...

And co-existence? LOL it did not came out of Yuuki, nor Zero but from Kaname's old research paper (Wrong way you took Oni-sama...)!! Aido had the solution after all. Yes, not Yuuki, Aido. LOL

Isaya would sacrifice himself to save Kaname and Allow Yuuki to stay with him,

Isaya was also another useless character...nothing more than a decorative that could be missing and a waste of pages...along with Yuuki's role as the reaper and many more elements...

If anyone could make a summary out of this script and understand it, please tell me. Oh and also what happens there with the vampires and the cures because I did not get it in detail, just that the solution finally came from Aidou.

Wait wait wait... are you really telling me that these are ALL the panels of the final chapters??? O_O

( Thanks @nina for the link as usual ;) )

I mean. There is nothing but a chaotic series of events and it's almost impossible to say where a scene ends and the other one starts. I don't think the dialogues will change this very much. And I expected much more emphasis on Zeki, as it's plain that Kaname left Yuuki with Zero and Yuuki decided to live with him. But what is there about their following relationship? A panel in which their heads are near and a panel in which a probably dead Zero is telling something (about a piece of Bloody Rose?). No, almost all panels are dedicated to Zero's tomb. But they are rushed, too. Wow.

Then. We start with Kaname throwing his heart in the furnace, making Isaya the most useless character ever seen here. We have no dialogue so we can't understand what happens and why the furnace collapses absorbing Bloody Rose and Artemis. We can't see any weapon, we can't understand if Kaname's sacrifice is useful or, like many other things here, is pure coreography. Maybe there are further explanations in the old book Hanabusa is reading? I don't know and I don't know if I want to know.

We never see Yuuki happy. If these are truly all the pages of ch.93, we have a sudden jump from Kaname's sacrifice and Yuuki's sacrifice that is supposed to be some Zeki happiness, that is not shown at all. Only Zero's tomb is shown. So, we have the impression that Yuuki has been doing nothing but grieving and making a son waiting for the moment in which she could finally succeed her goal. We can't understand why she couldn't do it before (because she wasn't able to erase Zero's memories, so she had to wait him die? O_o). And we can't understand why all the fuss on Zero's Level E-Ness (oh well, with Yuuki he could drink PB's blood all the time, so who cares).

And then. How the f*ck she could REVIVE Kaname? Because HW threw her heart in the furnace, and we know that Kaname saw that act as ultimate. So, was there a possibility for him to revive her, too? Is it possible to revive a pureblood without heart, plus make him human? Did she make him human? How did she sacrifice? And good heavens, why in front of the eyes of her sons?

(I have to say that if somebody wouldn't had some sentences translated, the Zeki part is so rushed that the fact that one of them is their sons wouldn't be THAT clear only by these very "expressive" images...).

I really can't believe that this was the end Hino was planning from the beginning. We all noticed the lowering and lowering of quality in the story since around HW's disappearance. And we all noticed how many threads are left open and ignored. I don't have the strength to read all chapters again to find them all, and I fear I'll have to make a great effort to read the whole scanlation. But please. So, HW was truly the Kuran ancestress? As Hino didn't make the effort to make us see Zeki happy life, it's not that strange that we don't see HW+Kaname having some child BEFORE Kaname got to love her and KNOWING THAT BOTH HER AND KANAME HATED THEIR OWN KIND (so, having babies with somebody Kaname didn't love that much was truly a wonderful idea!). BUT she started the trend of sacrificing without giving even a f*ck about her children, so she might truly be Yuuki's ancestress.
Then, the volcano. Pure coreography. The resin rose: Kaname gave it to Yuuki, then he took it away, and now where is it? We don't know, so why drawing a panel on purpose? Why drawing Yuuki depicted as HW? And the panel with the two mysterious hands joined? Pure coreography or useless symbolism again. So, Kaname's fear was only Yuuki sacrificing to make him human? Well, then he lost his battle, as we can see now. And what about the emphasis on the scenes of his past? When he was crying upon the mirror, was he only having some hysterical crisis in the middle of a battle that nobody cared to report us? What battle was that? Why were Bloody Rose and Artemis so important? Only because they were the coolest weapons? Only because in Japanese mangas nowadays scythes are trendy? And does Yuuki have some power other than reviving people after years?

I could go on for days. I have to say that, as I said multiple times, it was VERY hard for me, reading VK chapters since the last ball at Isaya's mansion. I felt hurt in the inside, and I disappeared from this forum too, because only watching at some pictures of them, or reading some crap from people who never cared about the plot, truly hurt me so much that I couldn't speak a word. Before, I used to be full of rage and indignation when someone was talking sh*t about Hino-sensei, or when I read some bad VK review saying that it was "the usual shoujo manga full of stupid clichés, without any true sense in the plot". Because there were all these threads, and as the first arc was so good and closed his own ones, I KNEW that the second was going to be awesome, with all this emphasis on Kaname's past and all these mysteries and riddles that Hino herself left there to see. And they were so plain that even the most blind among Zekis started to make theories about what could hide such a storyline, to solve their own problems - the different lifespan between Yuuki and Zero, for instance. Well, here is your solution: Hino didn't give a f*ck about the different lifespan. they lived together despite this, while she was thinking about what to do after his death. And I suppose you're all happy now. Or almost, the ones among you not smart enough to understand that this ending is an insult to Zero's character: he is depicted as the one who took the girl because the girl couldn't choose the other one. I have to say that this is a cliché of shoujo - and now I have to agree with all those bad reviews, and this hurts me more than anything. I know that I always put Georgie as an example, but as it's a "classic", it's perfect to show how shoujo cliché are like.

    Spoiler:

Georgie, after having to abandon Lowell, finds her true love with Abel, with which she has one night of love, and obviously get pregnant (all shoujo heroines seems to get pregnant with only one night of love, especially if it's their first one...). But Abel, alas, get killed. So what? She decides to go on and on, Titanic-like, and comes back to Australia, where she finds - guess who? Arthur, the third one, that she thought being dead. So the moral is, by being patient and lucky, you can get the girl you love, plus a baby as a bonus.

But even Georgie was a better tale + love story than this one. Maybe even Twilight. Gosh.

I'm very very very sad to say these things about someone as good as drawing as Hino-sensei. But, I repeat, I can't believe this was the ending she was planning, as the plot of the second arc really doesn't make any sense. I'm very sad for her, because she lost the opportunity to double, and maybe was pressured not to make all finish as she wanted - or maybe this truly IS what she wanted, in which case we all overestimated her, I'm sorry.

BUT I am also grateful, because thanks to VK I started reading manga again, as I haven't been doing for AGES. I started to pick one after the other to endure the PAIN that VK was giving me, to be true lol!, so I have to say that this was truly positive, after all.

AND I'm very happy to have found here some good people with whom I could talk deeply - you know who you are. Thank you! Please, just know that I have a great esteem of you and of your way of thinking, and I hope we will be able to talk again soon about FAR better manga °^_^° *hugs*

And sorry again if I disappeared for a while from last chapters discussions, but it was truly HELL for me. And it's hard in these days too, because I keep dreaming about human Kaname, trying to make him remember everything. Oh, well, my madness just keep going. Who cares.

I don't know if I will have the strength to take part to further discussions about this, so I hug you all here again °^___^° and THANK YOU, I hope we will all recover soon from this frustration. You know how to contact me if you need some support ;)

    Cheers!

Um… sorry but I beg to differ … from my POV the fact that we didn’t have another round with Yume after Yuuki had a life and with Zero is the slightest decent thing that Hino could do with this crap ending… only the idea makes me even more disgusted than I already am…

Kaname never takes the leftovers *cough* … he ALWAYS come FIRST IN EVERYTHING… why it should be changed that?

P.S.: I've read the translation just now (I hadn't seen the link before >_>)
It makes even clearer that Kaname is the only character of the story. All decisions are made by him, even the Zeki one, and all the solutions about the "cure" (and some mysterious technology we will never know) are done by him. So, the other characters are nothing but shadows compared to him.

I have nothing left to say.

    ^ very well stated!

thanks Juliet for posting the translation and thanks to senby as well for the work.

now things are much clearer but i have to agree with Duskola. no matter what, the one yuuki loved the most, she never got in the end.
what's this a cruel joke? after yuuki finally gets her act together she only gets the laughing clown at the end, and zero to pick up what's left of her?
which is not nice for zero at all. ok, he got her, and he did love her, but no way did she love him as much as he deserved. sounds simply tragic, her carrying on, getting 2nd best (because she loved kaname more) and just waiting to get kaname out of the furnace. this is not right for zero or for her.

now what i did find interesting is that (no matter how so very not well explained) aidou finds a cure, and so the furnace now finally becomes not needed. i suppose that a pointer.
isaya proved to be extremely disappointing....what kind of exit was that? (indirect quote) "now i'm useless" and poof? what was the point in him but just to amp up the mystery like when kaname talked with him at the masked ball. and oh, yuuki needed a gown. sorry i know i'm being sarcastic here, but honestly....

the worse part is that i'm eager to move on to better horizons and get started in earnest on another manga i have started months ago lol. which is sad, because this could have been wrapped up better. and i'm not even talking about the ships here. it's just so hasty, so full of holes....she def wanted to be rid of this and get on with her life apparently. way to commit.

despite what i've said, i also feel the ending was bittersweet, and despite all the flaws i think i could read it again...after i rectify the ending lol. no matter what, kaname proved to be such an incredible hero, and i do hope he'll be happy. i just wonder exactly how that will work out. what nags me is that will he stay human until he dies? will he ever gets his memories back? though honestly it would be a mercy for him not to remember. yet i suppose yuuki's children will enlighten him?

you can't have both the icing and the cake yet hino has tried to please both ships if you can it that.
what will it cause but more stupidity, more since some take this story like it's their elixir of life until they die.

i was looking forward to buying this manga once completed, but now i'm rather uncertain now. cause she made so many flaws, and while the love story of the yume's was beautiful, there are many many unresolved issues. major conflicting reaction are going on right now lol. as even so, i think i'm still a fan rofl i should probably shut up now Razz

I must start by congratulating Hino. She did a wonderful job…in turning the story into the greatest shit ever. Hino did her best in creating a failure and a slut as heroine.

Failure as a heroine because Yuuki’s only purpose in this story was to stop kaname by throwing his heart into the furnace; feat that yuuki failed. In 93 chapters, except a page (the one where she gave up her live for kaname), she did nothing for kaname. She received a lot from him but she gave back nothing.

A slut because while Kaname, the man she said she belongs too, and also the man she gave herself to, lied motionless on a cold ground, she decided to play house with another man, and making him a child / children. like an analogy – the husband left to war, and the wife because she feels lonely, or whatever, she decided to seek comfort into another.

I don’t understand why making yuuki say to zero :I cannot live with you, I belong to kaname ; she clinging to kaname, refusing to let him go, and sleeping with him – when she *Hino* doesn’t even intend to make yume the final couple, or to make yuuki show loyalty to kaname when he’s in slumber. Worse, is that those words and actions were canceled, throw into the thin air, because in the end, she lived with a man other than kaname, and belonging to him in body as well.

If Hino thought that with this finale she can satisfy me, or yumes than she must have been very wrong. For a long time I believed that I won’t like the end, but never imagined she will make it so worse.

Hino has a very twisted way of thinking, probably gained after she fell too many times on her head when she was little. Either way, she should give up being a shojo mangaka – she just proved us she has no skill in this area.

    Spoiler:
She may have pleased zekis – to some of them, yuuki being with zero after she had slept with another man, and probably having a child with that man, no matter what the circumstances is pleasing. No need to comment here more.

In this chapter, Hino created the perfect depiction of a whore; if you don’t know how one looks like, you’re free to watch yuuki and you will know. In the end yuuki became a character who doesn’t know the meaning of loyalty, who doesn’t know to be loyal to one man. And what did she show to her children on her last day of living? That while she lived with zero she loved another man, and even sacrificed her life for him to give him a chance to happiness.

Probably hino saw this story as a piece of cake she wanted to share with everyone (yume and zeki); unfortunately for her, this cake turned into a SHIT, literally.

The only good thing in this finale is that the slut is DEAD, and kaname is ALIVE.

The plot was developed till half, and later left there hanging in the air, probably waiting for someone else to write her story. During her story she added numerous useless things, like sara, or isaya. She gave so much space to sara for nothing actually. Her actions had no major influence whatsoever in this story. The army she created caused no fuss, nor her blood tablets. Isaya because at some point he seemed to have a role into this story. We just find out his role: to disappear.
And of course that here can be added many many elements hino refused to develop or to give answers to them. Probably due to lack of imagination.

I do regret the time and the money I had spent on his manga. The only good things which came after following this manga are the friends I made, and of course kaname-sama; he’s divine.

yea and the worst is that where is the commitment? come-on i was waiting for yuuki's epic debut as a hero of at least some sorts.
this was never yuuki's story really, it was kaname's. why the heck get yuuki up and running for....zilch nada nothing.
oh sure, it's marvelous that she's more mature, but that doesn't justify it. and it doesn't justify that she went with zero.
hino could not even make a ship have a proper ending! yume's failed, zeki's failed. because is yuuki and zero had to be together, it should have been done right not making a "picking up the pieces" & "hope i die soon" ending.

how can that make a great ending?

i'm just going to stick with kaname. he has and always be my favorite character...he's mine drawling anyway it's all about him in the end...and well, why should it not? he is the king of the night king

There you go… hence I can confidently and objectively Razz agree that VK ultimately is all about him! HE IS THE ONE AND ONLY HERO thus and the ONLY ONE that left ALIVE in the END … the story closed with HIM… even the heroine (who supposed to be the #1 since it is a shoujo) gave her life to bring him back to life!!!! That says it all!
