Yeah, I like him too. And even though he was evil he actually wasn't all that evil (especially at the end), at least compared to a lot of other villains anyways. But he does get a lot of hate and I personally don't see a lot of fans of him so that's why I was surprised.
Oh yes, Hitomi Kagewaki may be correct for that who he "was" right then.

i really do wonder what was the real deal about hitomi kagewaki its still not clear to me whether naraku killed him, or took his form, or there was no lord he created everyone in that castle. since he had the same face before hitomi comes . i go with that he and lord had same face and he killed the lord and became lord himself.
