I love Special A and Charming junkie (not fully translated though, but super fun manga to read) to lighten up the mood after reading VK. Also, try Hana to Akuma, very sweet relationship, the dude is sorta like Kaname+Zero, best of both worlds lol.

Re: Do you have any recommended Manga???
I recommend:
Death Note - Very interesting Manga (or just watch the anime)
Natsume's book of friends - It's about a boy who can see spirits, it's shojo and it is published in Lala Magazine as well.
K-on! - It's about a music club who just to random things, humorous manga!
More:
Maid Sama!
To aru Majutsu no index
To aru kagaku no railgun

Re: Do you have any recommended Manga???
Shounen:
If you like guy humor I suggest Hajime no Ippo. Its a classic sports manga (started 1989) and it is still running with the same main characters. Only possible problem: the art style is a little ugly on purpose.
Kaiji: gambling, enough said.
Beezelbub: pure entertainment, no thinking required.
Xxxholic
All four have animes.
Shoujo: (I'm trying not to repeat others choices)
Parfait Tic (if you love angsty love triangles)
Switch Girl
B.O.D.Y.
Crimson Hero/Beniro Hero (volleyball)
Himitsu no Ai-chan (not really smutty yet, but looks like its heading there)
Skip Beat (I like it but it is too hyper for me, so I had to stop reading it)
Kimi Ni Todoke
Bitou Lollipop
Gokusen (yakuza)
Ashita no Ousama (acting/playwright)

I love this show.
AMAGAMI SS is a great show. The manga is nise too. but the anime is way better. Two years ago, Junichi Tachibana got his heart broken by a girl who stood him up on a date on Christmas Eve. Now a second-year student in high school, Junichi is wary of love because of his past and dislikes celebrating Christmas. However this Christmas, his encounter with one of six girls from his school, Haruka Morishima, Kaoru Tanamachi, Sae Nakata, Ai Nanasaki, Rihoko Sakurai, or Tsukasa Ayatsuji will finally open up his heart to love agai. Each girl gets her own ark. If you like romance/comady i recomend this show. I love it it makes you feel all fuzzy inside" alt=""/>

Re: Do you have any recommended Manga???
Well aside from the really popular ones I'd like to recommend the following:
Since you mentioned you read Death Note you might like:
Liar Game. It's a story about a very honest girl who was conned into participating in a Liar Game. What is she to do? She enlists the help a an ex-convict whose mind is so brilliant he will blow you away. I definitely recommend.
And one with my fave female character:
Shin Angyo Onshi. It's a story about Munsu, an Angyo Onshi (one who travels throughout the kings lands making sure that the rulers are being fair to their people). Although they are usually depicted as the people's saviour, Munsu is really an arrogant b@stard who would do anything and sacrifice anyone to finish his mission. The most amazing character here is his Sando (the one who protects the Angyo Onshi) Chun Hyang. She looks like a very delicate girl, but don't underestimate her because she can take on an entire army. A warning to those who hate sad stories though. This one has a really serious plot with a lot of very sad tales.
Basara. Now this one is also pretty popular but I'd like to recommend it to any who might not have read it yet. It's written by Tamura Yumi, one of Hino Matsuri's favorite writers. It's a story about a girl who had to pretend to be her twin brother so she can lead her people as the destined savior. It has a very beautiful love story. I say read it.
Saiunkoku Monogatari. Yes, I love stories with a good female protagonist, and not wimpy ones. I'm sure this is pretty popular too. This is a story about Shuurei, a girl with great ambition in a world where women are supposed to be simply brides. She changes the lives of those around her including the kingdom. For those who have missed it, go find it. The love story is sweet too, although, its not really a shojo manga.
Bakuman. It's nice to learn how the manga industry works. You learn when a manga gets discontinued, how it happens and why others have almost to a thousand chapters. This is a story about two young boys who aspire to be manga artists. It's very inspirational. It's also written by Ohba Tsugumi, the same writer as Death Note.
Noblesse. I guess we all like vampires here, so this one is just perfect. If you talk about power, this one takes it (well lets not include Alucard ofcorse). The story is about a vampire who slept for 820 years and when he woke up everything was modern and he has no idea about how the new world works. But he is so powerful, he takes your breath away. Not to mention he is very pretty and he also goes to school. What more do you want? This one is a manwah by the way. And yeah I need to mention that no matter how powerful he is, he gets beat easily in a computer FPS game. XD
For a shojo manga, one I really enjoyed reading was:
Kimi wa Petto. It's old you may have already read it, but for those who haven't, pick it up. Its funny and doesn't end at all like the live action movie, if you've seen it. The ending is waaaay better. Anyway, the story is about a 28 year old carrier woman who found a young pretty boy (20) in a box outside her apartment. He had nowhere to go and begged her to let him stay. She told him that she would agree if he stays as her pet, without any human rights, thinking he would never agree to such. But he did, and so the story starts.
And then I'm not sure if this one is Shojo but it's definitely a love story.
Immortal Rain. It's about a bounty hunter in pursuit of the one known as the Methuselah, an immortal man who has lived for hundreds of years. But when she finally found him, one thing and another happened and she ended up as his ally. The love story is very touching and the girl has a very inspiring character which I love in my heroines. Wonderful story.
That's all for now, I might add some later.
