His role in the story

Aidou in the beginning of the story acts rather careless, he has a great admiration for the pureblood Night-Class President, Kaname Kuran, therefore in his effort to learn more about him or to protect him, Aidou acts recklessly, getting into trouble, especially when this involves, Yuuki Cross.
He is funny and charismatic, has an inquisitive nature and therefore likes to explore and to question everything around him. His devotion to Kaname makes him, after chapter 49, one of Kaname’s most trusted people and friends. Aidou is also considered to be Yuuki’s trusting companion, guarding her from potential dangers especially when Kaname Kuran is not around.

Gossip: He is described by Takuma in an early special bonus chapter as being in love with Kaname Kuran.

Hanabusa means "petal of a flower". Aido means "indigo temple". In Japanese, the pronounciation of Aido is very closed to the pronounciation of the English word "Idol".
