Who is Rido Kuran to Kaname?

Rido and kaname aren't cousin. If we say that kaname is haruka and juuri's child, then we can say that rido is kaname uncle - since rido is haruka and juuri older brother.

But the situation is a little confuse. Kaname is the progenitor of kuran, so he lived before them, but from different reasons he entered in slumber. when he was woke up, due to blood lust he reduced his body at a baby dimension and replaced the son haruka and juuri lost.

I guess, kaname is haruka/juuri/rido grandfather.

He is kaname's master he awakens him for he's slumber.

someone who he really wants to kill, someone with no importance in his life, and someone who should be never trusted

For the little information the story has given so far about who was Kaname as his identity as original Kuran ancestor . I did believe he is indeed Rido , Haruka and Juuri's grandfather ( for both maternal and paternal sides ) .

The main clue was given in a bonus chapter . The one about Juuri and the umbrella incident . Where she said her grandfather , Vampire King Kuran , was the one who give her permit to attend a human school in a area without vampires .

The other clue relevant to this is when Kaname was talking to Yuuki about the Pureblood Vampire wars . He had said their great - grandfather ( their only one ) become the first Vampire King as result of the conflict . For what the story had told so far , readers are supposed to infere as Kaname was the original Vampire King . Kaname during that conversation was talking about himself . If he was the original Vampire King . Kaname is supposed to be also Yuuki's great - grandfather . And Rido's grandfather .


Here's the issue of getting so large black holes in the Kuran family tree . When they are supposed to be so few people . Without getting the confirmation if HW was the original Kuran ancestress . Or if there was another woman in Kaname's past who was the mother of his children .

isn't that the thing that hw had light hair and if she was the ancestress then why no kuran ever had light hair ,they all possess black hair although hw looks very similar to yuuki and one thing from where this curly hair thing came? ?neither kaname nor hw possessed curly hair as it seems so how juuri and rido had curly hair or maybe their parents had.who knows??? except hino.

Kaname is Rido's (however many great) grandfather, and now Rido currently resides somewhere deep within Kaname. He no longer has a physical form, but is forever attached to Kaname because of the spell he cast when he was reviving Kaname.
