The way this story is going it almost remind me of another manga I recently just watched called Code Geass when the main character at the end of the series did almost the exact same thing by pushing everyone that he cared about away to make the world better for his younger sister and everyone else in the world by being the villian and sacrficinh himself for a peaceful world. It had a happy yet sad ending, so I have a feeling that's what going to happened since we only have a few chapters left of Vampire Knight.

@arinicole wow what a sad ending.but if kaname succeeds in making world a better place for yuuki and others whats the point of yuuki and kaname's love which hino so lovingly developed till the recent chapter.she constantly claims she belongs with kaname so if kaname sacrifices whom she is gonna live with?will she be able to love zero like she loves kaname?will she be happy?kaname's death leads to only tragic ending with nothing good gained in the end.elfen lied had a tragic ending as well,lucy killed herself to save kouta but kouta did not loved lucy like yuuki loves kaname.

Hello everyone! I must say I liked this chapter, this is the begining of the final journey, the search for Kaname. I feel sad because I really like this manga and don't want it to end. On the other hand I'm very happy because now, we finally have a proof that Yuuki has feeling for Zero, I've just read the spanish translation and don't know if it's accurate but she said she can't live without him, but she belongs with kaname..it is a start, she has split feelings. Sad again, but thrilled because I like Zero, and like Cross said he has followed the light and he is doing what's right for him (to fulfill what Ichirou couldn't do).

As for Kaname, well the theories of him sacrificing again for making more anti-vampire weapons it's there because of what the HW said, we don't know how he will do that, but I have a strong feeling he is willing to do what she did.
So I was even happpier because Zero finally said those things to Yuuki, if what they feel was all aranged and stuff!! Man! that was one shocking part, finally some Zeki moments (maybe I'm wrong but thanks Hino). I just hope next chapter we have more answers to those question..

Sorry to ruin your hopes but the spanish version is incorrect. what yuuki say is -

"I cannot live with zero. I belong to kaname."

Yuuki does not admit any love feelings towards zero. on contraire, she's honest with him and tells him what she really feels; that she belongs to kaname. also, zero knows and accept the fact that she's kaname's fiancee.

M...I do not know how you interpret it, without intention to attack you point of view, I am afraid when she says that she belongs to/with Kaname and that she can not live with Zero, because to me that is like saying "I shall follow Kaname since there is no other way of living, I belong by his side" and since Kaname intends to kill himself, it does not sound quite optimistic for Yuuki.

If Kaname's plan is fulfilled and dies then perhaps Yuuki's goodbyes to Yori, her last lines to her that were similar to "I want you to remember me", suddenly make more sense, because apparently for what reason other than a final separation would Yuuki give her goodbye and express such a wish for her friend, if she was not feeling that perhaps this was a journey without return for her...

This frightens me, if Yuuki belongs with Kaname then what does it mean about her current decision and her statement "Last journey"?

We do not know the extremes that she can reach, true everything that she did to stop Kaname failed up to this moment, so what is left?

I'm still not sure about part of that translation either. We won't know for sure until we get a direct Japanese to English translation. It makes a big difference even though it's such a small thing, but either way it still doesn't really matter because Yuuki still said she wanted things cleared up in hers and Zero's relationship. She got out in the open and said it and for that I'm proud of her... and it's not really possible to resolve their relationship status if they do not have more time together... that's why I think the "I can't live on with you" makes no sense. Why would she want nothing to do with him if she wants things to be cleared up as well? Kind of contradicting. But she could have just meant literally she said that she can't live with him ultimately because she thinks she belongs with Kaname, not that she won't see him again. But I don't know why she would say that either if she doesn't even believe for sure that Zero still loves her ( remember she thought once "he must have let go of those feelings back then..."?) ...another contradiction. ^^; If it was "I can't live without you... but I belong with Kaname." Then it makes sense. She wants to be with Zero to figure things out, but she belongs with Kaname so that holds her back. We'll see in the next chapter... they'll probably have just a little more time together to resolve things before going after Kaname.

Interesting thought though... You're right she did say goodbye to Yori like it would be the last time she saw her. And she said "I won't erase your memories of me." Because she thinks Yori would be upset if Yuuki is gone again probably...but regardless she still wants to be remembered. Yuuki did also say that this was the final journey... I think she means to end things with what Kaname is doing once and for all no matter the cost... and she knows there's a high risk of dying. Whether it's in actual all-out combat with Kaname... or she chooses to die along with him. I believe either of those could happen but I just hope it won't... I don't want Yuuki to die. T-T I really will cry if she does...

And really what it doesn’t make sense at all is IF Yuuki was saying I cannot live without you Zero …

But since the truth is that Yuuki says that she CANNOT live WITH Zero this also means that she knows about his romantic feelings thus she wanted to clear up her position in order to not give false expectations to Zero … which yeah is something very honest and right on her end to do.

I think she means to end things with what Kaname is doing once and for all no matter the cost... and she knows there's a high risk of dying. Whether it's in actual all-out combat with Kaname... or she chooses to die along with him. I believe either of those could happen but I just hope it won't... I don't want Yuuki to die. yes i do not want her either....my bad feeling though is that she is determined to reach extremes because let's face it; she tried everything with Kaname what is left there to threat him than her own existence?
(the one that he so hard tries to protect and kind of ironic if that's the case, another meaningless sacrifice)...

Zero is changing already - Kaien noticed that and was happy for him. So inside him Yuuki did the miracle that we had been expecting him. We were also saying that he will the last to mature of the three - probably because this change will play a critical role at the end.

apparently he is there to react in some way to whatever it is to happen - it would make no sense Hino adding him there as a decorative. So if Kaname dies, Yuuki dies, but Zero stays there as a viewer, his presence does not change a thing - does not make sense...

Menos free time Spanish version has being edited . As people complained their translation was wrong .

The English version is the correct one .

While I agree that Yuuki seems determined (and technically the whole atmosphere of the chapter pinpoints to the final solution) hence she might have in mind to reach the extremes if she has to; however her phrase about the “last journey” I think it refers mainly to her and Zero… kinda like what she did/said to Yori. I find similarities between these wordings.
And I do not mean it in a bad way, but based on their prior convo and mostly on Zero’s wording about how their relationship started I think that Yuuki meant that this journey it will be the last one cuz they are gonna get on the bottom of everything i.e. they will find out the truth starting from their first meeting till now.

So in a way or another she thinks that this venture is the last for the two of them because regardless of the following events or the outcome, right now Yuuki’s intention is to be beside Kaname i.e. her life (or death) is connected solely with Kaname thus in her mind this is the last journey that she’ll take with Zero.

But this is only my interpretation lol.

What intrigues me in all these is Zero’s change … while most of us indeed expected this change from Zero near the end, however I have a feeling that we miss something here. Cuz I’ve been thinking … Zero always knew that Yuuki was his savior; first emotionally/mentally when he was a wreck from his family drama and afterwards practically with her blood (well partially anyway cuz Kaname was the one who saved his life with his blood first).
So since he always knew that; what made him now to change so suddenly? Could it be Kaname another factor??? As extreme and as this might sound the new clue for Zero at least, and the one that NOW he stresses out is IF his encounter with Yuuki (<< i.e. his salvation) was a set up by Kaname. If so then the one who also helped to his salvation was Kaname. So could it be this the catalyst for his change? Could it be one of the reasons of why he seeks these answers from Kaname?
Or isn’t there another contradiction in what Kaname claimed previously about his involvement in Zero’s family drama? And let’s accept for a moment that Kaname indeed orchestrated everything in order to create in the end a powerful killing machine full of hatred for the PBs aka Zero …
But if so; then his “set up” -as Zero now believes with Yuuki- doesn’t contradict with Kaname’s supposedly intention?
How can someone create a monster full of hate by pushing into his life a girl like Yuuki full of warmth and compassion? Especially Kaname who knew from first hand the influence that Yuuki could have on the people around her? How could he have made that “mistake”? Cuz in the end of the day what saved Zero’s heart and from turning into a monster was Yuuki.
I could be totally out of base here but IMO the only one who couldn’t make that mistake is Kaname.
And in any case because there are many loopholes in Kaname’s version of the story I would be very pleased if Zero could put the things together and thus he is now questioning some events and seeks for answers.

Another clue that might be relevant with Zero’s queries/suspicions about Kaname’s intentions –regarding him and Yuuki- is what Cross told Zero about Kaname a few chapters back >> that at some point Kaname had the intention to let Yuuki live on without him >>

Cross: Kaname-kun had once wanted to let Yuuki go, but later he realized that it was impossible to do so… therefore he decided to take her back to his side…

I suppose he is referring on the time when Yuuki was still a human child or even after Zero’s appearance in her life. So this could also have made Zero questioning about the “randomness” of his encounter with Yuuki.

The reason of why I’m exploring all these is to reach in Juliet’s speculations that Zero’s role now could be to save both Yuuki and Kaname.
Because to be honest I have a difficulty to see this coming from Zero. Yes I believe that he could do anything for Yuuki including to sacrifice his life; but to save Kaname??? Even if it is for Yuuki’s sake still I feel that something would be missing.
And at any rate if everything will come down to this then there must be a balance i.e. that Zero will realize or find out that Kaname is lying, that he saved him too in the past and see Kaname’s total self-abnegation regarding Yuuki and her happiness<< in this way I can see more convincing a scenario in which Zero plays a role in Kaname’s salvation.
