unfortunately the links have been removed from the above thread since the current manga site does not feature VK anymore. But we have seen this sword used in the past, it seems that later on from the mother metal many anti-vampire weapons were created apart from the two known Bloody Rose and Artemis.

Or are you reffering where he kept the sword now? We did not see him taking one when leaving the house with one so..

Now since Sara had taken the heart, where Kaname would hit Hanadagi did not matter that much I think. It's an antivampire weapon, he was weakened so the difference is little if you consider it.

It reminded me Shizuka's death but vice versa; at Shizuka Zero had made an anti-vampire wound, Kaname extracted the heart, now it's the other way around I think.

There are many antivimpire weapons (the one who took Haruka's life, the one the VHunter used at the party to 'suicide', the one Cross keeps in his locker and so on), but I didn't know that Kaname owned one

Wasn't this the one he was holding, when he gave Rido, his blood? You Know, when Rido, was still in the coffin? I can't really recall the image.

@Ariel this is not an anti-vampire sword the one you are referring to... it was not Kaname's...

So in any case there is a sword there used by Kuran's males and Kurans end up with an anti-vampire sword after Rido's first attack on Kaname but we can not be sure if they have kept it. THe sure thing is that after Rido's second attack and kaname's efficient blow the sword rests with kaname...

I thought it was the same sword all along! Thanks for clearing this out.

You know I do not understand a thing...

If Kaname's plan is to lead them into a coo-existence or whatever why does he not put trust in the hunters? why does he go on his own with all the implications for his actions intended to be misunderstood. Any thoughts on that?

where Kaname states that even after his long slumber the condition about the vampires has not changed so I thought that perhaps Kaname was waiting for the vampire society to change/hoping for it but now he has lost all hope about it and a part of his despair lingers at that point...think it's possible?

Right now, Kaname is probably sounding with only despair.

When it was mention that he had lost all hopes, I wonder whether it was implying that he had lost the will to live. If we compared the number of years the Purebloods lived, Kaname is probably the oldest vampire now.

On the obvious surface, it implies the possibilty of co-existence between Vampires and Humans, probably low, such that Kaname has no hopes for them to co-exist. Then through this, I understand why Kaname killed Isaya-sama and Aidou Dono-san. I asume that he didn't want them to get in his way while he established co-existence between Vampires and Humans, especially when he had already disbelieved that Vampire and Humans may co-exist peacefully. Getting rid of those opposing him increases the chances of establishing the peace he wanted. That's what he believes in, assumably, but not what I recommend.

While I may be wrong, I wanna know what you guys' opinions are.

Can anybody explain why Yuuki says this to Kaname? I can understand the "drink my blood" and "snuggle up to me", but the other...just seems so strange since they are not children and Yuuki had finally established that she shouldn't refer to Kaname as her brother, just seems like an awfully immature thing to say when they are supposed to be starting afresh...

I am sorry but from all the chapter is that what impressed you or made you wonder, Yuuki's childish spirit?

"starting a fresh" does not exclude romantic and familly feelings to collide. It's the level of equality between them the one element that Yuuki wants to correct..not the way..she is seeing Kaname the same way as she did in the past because she was in love with him all the way..is it accidental that a few pages later Yuuki says "Finally I faced him like an equal..."? as she refers back to her new level of her intimancy towards Kaname...
Under this light even the "read me a fairytale" is a far direct, close to her heart, desire that she now freely speaks wanting to share with him, that she knows as a man and as a brother, all kind of moments..from snuggling to even storytelling and sweet dreaming.

The kind of their relationship is not affected (he is her love, he is her brother and her ancestor), these do not change. It is the level of freedom, of equality that Yuuki feels that has changed now that she speaks her mind to him. So to start a fresh refers to redefine their communication (practically Yuuki to feel as equal to him) not their kind of relationship.

These things though (making a new start-moving from oni-sama to Kaname) and Yuuki detaching her mind from the fact that Kaname is not trully her brother take time. It would not be realistic Yuuki's behaviour to change over a night...the way she perceives him also as her brother. But in her level of communication she tried to be more open and honest like expecting him to stay instead of leaving and telling him that she wished him to drink her blood...so slowly..slowly...

Yuki has some ingrained attachment to her past, this is shown by her persistence in calling him oniisama despite Kaname's insistence to call her Kaname only. Her memories while living in the Kuran basement were her only solidified childhood experience which mainly circled around her parents and Kaname as her only companion/friend/playmate. Personally I believe something like this is difficult to let go so easily, especially since it was her lifetime since birth. Reading stories with him were perhaps part of her memorable or cherished experiences that she wanted to relive, especially now she awakened after 10 years, a part of her must have missed doing that as she had stopped having any interaction with him when her memories were sealed. Personally I don't find anything wrong with it..

Kaname had begun revealing his past to her, that can be considered part of the dual communication. It's Yuki's desire to know everything about Kaname and learn what he hides from her, personally I find it unrealistic that Kaname will unravel it all in one sitting, so it's not possible for her to know everything. Part of his hesitations to tell her I believe is because he doesn't want her to be involved..and so many other reasons

yes things need to go slow, it would be a bore if kaname revealed everything and enlighten Yuki.

Ι agree at some point that he left unexpectedly, but that event also shows that there might me things, facts, or events of the past or the future that are not that easily to be explained. As Solace already said he did make the step to tell her a part of his past (apart from not being her brother), to give her Artemis, to finally leave her on her own with the advise not to hesitate with her scopes. As Yuuki had said, he is telling her is okay to change and to move on..as he dediced to also share a part of him and so there is an interaction. He shares his experiences with her, she starts to grow and to mature, It's not easy for Yuuki to change her ways over night, that's a part of a nice and natural development that we are witnessing to her character, the world she sees now. We just have to be patient. We are watching Yuuki growing and maturing in her relationship five years now actually (and this involves all her relationships even the one she has with herself, that's the greater achievement after all, so that's the way it functions..)
