Is there going to be a season 3 for the Vampire Knight anime?

I was wondering if there is going to be a season 3 for Vampire Knight. Some people say there isn't and some people say it's out in Japan and it's called Vampire Knight Destiny, so I'm really confused.

Although, I'm guessing that there's going to be a third season, but it's not going to be out in a long time because in the manga Hino haven't even revealed who the real bad guy is and until he/she is revealed and killed, I don't think there's going to be a third season, but I'm just guessing, I don't know for sure.

I really hope there is going to be a third season. I really want to watch it. *crosses fingers*

There might have been a topic that is like this one, but I didn't find it so...

I thought that it was a petition at the internet going around for that reason, I have not heard anything though from an offical source and it makes me wonder if there was a third season wouldn't we know already?
Hino would also advertise that to her blog, I am sure that we would knew. It would be nice to have it.
Perhaps if the manga is completed, they are going to make us that nice favor.

I cant help but wonder if this rumor about VK having a third season is because Yuki didnt choose Zero in the 2nd season of Guilty? If that is so, definitely a third season might pose another chance.

Not sure if there will be a third season, it probably depends on the budget the producer has, for example Gakuen Alice anime stopped at a certain point in the manga. The manga continued for quite many chapters while the anime quit midway there due to lack of budget, so fans signed a petition for another season of GA, though not sure if that worked.

I don't know about the presence of a new season.
I read into a another forum, like the new season is called Eternity. ofc i don't pay attention to rumors.

If the new season is out in Japan we would have known. If I remember correctly, vk episodes were on internet imediately after release.

Due to season 3 missing from internet, I think a new season isn't out, but I hope to be soon.

Sadly, I doubt there will be a season 3, even if I would of course wish for it. But it just doesn't seem to be very likely... All we can do is hope.
There of course is a petition on the internet, but there is also one for translating the VK DS game and for thousands of other things and I don't believe in petitions...
Wht annoys me about the possible season 3 are the constant rumors. I mean, if there was one out already, we would all know about it. It's just the "fans" wanting to be sooo important to other fans because they "know more" and then they make up things like: the title and the direction of the plot. I won't believe in a 3rd season unless I see proof! What about pictures? Clips? Anything? If there was anything, Hino would have SOMETHING about it on her blog sooner or later, we would see a PICTURE and YouTube would have actual clips or at least previews - real ones not the fan-made mix of season 1 and 2. Not to mention if it was out in Japan, there would be episodes on the internet.
I of course hope for another season and there might be one, but there isn't one yet.

People are saying this for years now. After seeing season 2 it was clear that we would have to wait for a very long time because the story wasn´t much longer than the anime yet...now we have enough content to plan a third season, that´s the reason why all the comments from people who said that there would come a third season 2 years ago are false...right now there are no news and I don´t think that there will be a next season within at least one year, something like Vampire Knight which has a lot of fans would be presented for a long time...

You can give me a bad reputation for that but I don´t want another season, the way they changed the story during the second season didn´t enjoyed me and I don´t like the style either...but that is only my opinion, when it comes out maybe one day I know that I will watch, even if it is only because I would like to talk with others about it ;)

Never believe in rumors, Nightclaws. There won't be a third season of Vampire Knight. If you look at the previous pages here at this thread, I'm sure that you should know the reasons why. And besides, the animation company didn't do a great job adapting Hino's original storyline-- i.e. VK Guilty: episodes 10 through 13.

Never know. Maybe one day. Look at InuYasha. The anime stopped for years before they continued and ended it with InuYasha the Final Act. Ofcourse they greatly changed the original storyline to squish it all in 26 episodes.

Really? Why must the anime makers change the original story so? I understand somethings, like have to fit things in an episode time frame, but there is a lot of changes that don't make sense to me.

Who knows? If they were going to make it, it's probably because the chapters come out each month that they couldn't make it. But take the manga Naruto as in example. New chapters are released every Thursday so it's more simple to make episodes as the manga is ongoing.

Tht´s the reason why the first rumors from 2 years ago couldn´t be true, there weren´t many chapters and an anime with the correct story was unthinkable...today we have some chapters but I think it is important to wait until we know something more about the current situation...in the second season they "forgot" sara, because they didn´t thought she would become imoportant and now? maybe they "forget" something too that becomes important in the future, I prefer waiting until another season makes sense...I think that´s better

Well I would love to get a nex chapter of Vampire Knight every week but I think the drawings wouldn´t be so pretty and goo, I waited patently for years and I will continue doing that

And here's the explanation why the Vampire Knight anime is so far away from the manga. Read the quote and you'll know. They left out Sara, important scenes, changed things... Because no one knew what was important: Hino isn't predictable like that. It would be impossible to make a really good anime season of Vampire Knight while it's ongoing. This just tells us one thing: Vampire Knight is too good to have who knows how many seasons.

And I actually don't want a new chapter every week. I mean, I love Vampire Knight, but the art would probably suffer, Hino isn't a machine and in my opinion the story would suffer to. Besides, I think that the waiting time make the love for the manga grow more.

Ι agree, she should have enough time to draw and form the scenes as she likes, but right now my own love for the manga has made me suffer two months now without VK...!! sorry for the irrelevant but I am about to burst here anticipating for the new chapter, as for the anime, yes Sara's character was out but still they could create a scene after that with Sara getting Takuma (because we never seen what happepened with Takuma, I think) and introduce the new season. We really never saw that in the anime and they really could make something like that, but who knows... I think the genre of the manga isn't exactly the most popular for anime. Vampire Knight is extremely popular and I really wish that everyone would love it, I would love another season IF it was something really taken from the manga... I can't say anything, but I heard that Vampire Knight doesn't really stand a chance, even when it sales good, because the most popular animes are... Just look at them and you know what I mean... I would prefer a good Vampire Knight episode anytime over Naruto and Once Piece and Pokemon and all the other things, but I know that it would never sale that good... I guess it might sell in Japan, I don't... I don't want to doubt, but when we look at the amount of managas similar to Vampire Knight coming out in anime form in whole lenght, it makes me wonder... Hoping is good, but I don't want to have too high expectations, because we might be disappointed. I am so negative about this whole thing because of all the made up 3rd seasons... I really hate to see how there are rumors and more come out every day... It's just painful to see how desperate people are to make up all these things and with every new rumor I lose hope even more...

I'm truly hoping that season 3 anime is made...trying to think of ways to promote this idea to the people in charge...of course great sales of the manga is most important and I'm doing that, purchasing the manga, anime, etc and influencing people I know to do the same...also perhaps tweeting @VIzMedia with this hope? I'm sure most of you already know this but in case there are those who don't know downloading the VIZ Manga app on iPad and getting VK in digital form is awesome. I love having VK in it's original paper form, in moving anime form, and the manga in digital form!

Well that´s exactly what I meant, I´m glad that you share my opinion...I love the manga because he isn´t predictable, it´s so great to think about the next chapter, sharing theories, I don´t want to lose that...

I think that the last chapters showed up that Hino hasn´t enough time, she is such a great mangaka...a new chapter isn´t posible, or mmh maybe with 7-8 pages every week --> senseless

That's right. A manga every week, even every two weeks is impossible. The only mangas that do this seem to focus on fighting and in my opinion have very shallow characters and we definitely can't say that for Hino. I am happy for her whenever she takes a break, of course, we have to wait a bit longer, sometimes there is no new chapter for one month and we have to wait two months instead, but I want to wait. Think about getting a new chapter every week... Hino would be sitting and drawing all week long, just to make art with less love for the details and a story that could be written by anyone, in ne week there can't be enough ideas.
Besides, with her art I have enough to do for 3 months per chapter, no need to rush things.

My 14 year old daughter keeps asking me if there will be there will be an other episodes of Vampire Knight beyond episode 13 of Vampire Knight Guilty on DVD. I seriously don't have any news to tell her. I have heard so many different stories as to whether or not the episodes will go beyond that. But I wish that Matsuri Hino would at least let her fans know something. Not trying to be rude or anything but the lack of information is really leaving the Vampire Knight fans hanging in the dark. I'm new to this forum, so if any updated news has been posted, then I'm not aware. But come on....please let us know something.

This has as good as nothing to do with Hino. She has the story and the drawings, whether they are made into anime doesn't really depend on her. Sure, she gives her ok and so on, but as far as I know she would need an offer for a season 3. There were no official news about a third season anywhere. No one can tell whether there really will be one and everyone who says there already is one or offers pictures/clips is just spreading rumors. There are only fan-made third seasons for now.

And I agree....Hino is a wonderful mangaka artist. I'm 36 and my 14 year old daughter has managed to get me and even her dad into Vampire Knight. I'm surprised that with as many fans that Hino has for Vampire Knight, that she hasn't gotten an offer for season 3 yet. That is unheard of. If Vizmedia won't make an offer, what about FUNimation? Sorry to be nosy but I just can't imagine no offers have been made yet knowing Vampire Knight's growing popularity. I don't really listen to rumors anyway. That's why I actually like to ask people that would more than likely know. Hope Hino gets things all worked out.

Well, as popular as Hino is with Vampire Knight, we all have to consider the manga, which is rather dark, especially as the story moves on. Not to mention that the manga is popular for a shoujo manga... It's directed towards girls and if you read the manga, you might have noticed a problem. The second season of the anime is based on the manga too loosely. Hino isn't the kind of mangaka we can predict and the same happened in the anime. For example Sara was left out completely - no one knew she would be important and I would be worried about the third season. They would just have to change many thing back so they fit the manga better and so on, which is hard to do... We also don't knw for sure whether there were offers or not, but many people doubt a third season would really pay off or it's simply too dangerous to start making episodes and then miss another major twist in the story. Besides, Guilty was pretty messed up and because of that it's probably better for the profit to make another manga into anime format... I honestly don't know, but for now there are no news.
