Belle was smart and intellegent (yuuki is not)
The beast didn't want company (Kaname is a perv))
Gaston was a hunter and had a huge ego for Belle, (aido does not) (well ego yes hehe)
The red roses are similar like the resin rose and the beast's life rose. But still, it is not his life, it is an "engagement" token.
Kaname is a beast we all know that, and yuuki is a beauty. But the love triangle in VK is very different from the "triangle" in Beauty and the Beast.

Hm what also just now hit me while i was thinking of my favoret disney movie sleeping beauty . yukki and kaname relate to that aswell. you know yukki at first being a sleeping vampire and not knowing it untill bitin by kaname .

Every single fairytale no matter which origin it has (these two you have mentioned so far are european, german/french) have the same base of different sayings.
So we could make this list go on and discuss close to every single movie ever created and compare it to vampire knight.
But in the end we won't find a 100% match.
I like to think of Vampire Knight as something unique, it has a story line with characters which I find unique, which is why I love it so much.

well for me vk looks like king Artur and the knights of the round table,i always see that kaname is the king not prince , yuuki is the princess and zero the knight. plus any story with that elements is vk. but no beauty and the beast or sleeping beauty or others

m...until this fairytale is going to end I can not conclude into a resemblance, but I think that Kaname stands for King for certain but as we saw Aidou was depicted as a vampire knight too...and somewhere in his old life Kaname played that role too...right now the second arc focuses on Kaname's part, so it still lingers there...

AgreeXD I don´t see beauty and the beast in VK but Arthur is making more senseXD Yeah and Kaname will end up so depressed because Yuuki bite Zero and end hide on an island and say if there is any troubles they should call him
makes a lot sense Kaname styleXD And Zero can continue having afairs with Yuuki. But I don´t hope for that I readed somewhere that she ended up as a nun. UPS that means the end of the cristians nuns
