Yume romantic implications in chapter 81

Okay so i wanted to look more in depth into the Yume scene in chapter 81, at the words said and the actions(body language). I was also wondering how others saw and interpretted this scene?

For me personally it just reaffirms and strengthens how much Kaname and Yuuki love each other. I remeber seeing people doubting Yuuki's feelings for Kaname being of love anymore and i think this scene effectivly blew that arguement out of the water.

Yuuki takes this meeting to confront Kaname over him leaving her, and to remind him of the promise he made with her in the underground hallway. I dont have viz on me at the moment so if someone could provide the exact words, the gist though was if they seperated either he would kill her or she would kill him. Its effectivly "if i can't have you no-one will" scenario to me. IMO i doubt ether could kill the other due to their feelings, but for Yuuki to bring this up shows how much him leaving her hurt. Her words of "I have no given up on you" show she has not abandoned him or given up on them being together and working their relationship out. In terms of feelings this is quite a strong statement i find especially after everything that has happened recently.

The way they both look at the other while they are fighting shows that they love each other, and dont really want to have to do what they are doing.

Neither wish to fight or harm the other but they will both stand up for what they believe in. Really this is quite a development for Yume as Yuuki finally did not sway, she stood her ground. She is not his equal yet, but this shows a huge step towards that IMO. So effectivly one of the Yume flaws is being overcome. Which for me as a Yume i see as very good.

So thats how i viewed the scene, how did others see it?

this think it was all very sad to see two lovers who love each other to the extent to devour each other now can't be with together just because one stupid lover wants to protect a villain.no thinking that kaname is the hero.zero is a hero too but a hesitant hero,he doesn't think before doing something.

This is the famous scene most Zekis know the words by heart :

Chapter 52 , Viz ed , vol . 11

Kaname : " What are you asking me ... after all this time ? I won't regret you over something like that ... You can always stay by my side . It's all right ... I don't mind if there is someone else inside your heart ... You are who you are because you have a big heart ... Yet you told me you want to stay by my side . You'll suffer over it ... Because you have love inside your heart for me too . "

Yuuki : " I ... ! I don't have the right to receive a kiss from you ! "

Kaname : " Yuki ... "

Yuuki : " ... I'm sorry . "

Yuuki runs . Kaname goes after her .

Kaname : " YUKI . What's the matter ? One moment you tell me you want to be by my side ... and the next you run from me . "

Yuuki : " I'm being unfair to you . I shouldn't be doing this . "

Kaname : ' Yes ... You are a dishonest , terrible fiancee ... "

Yuuki is pushing Kaname .

Yuuki : " I am ! So even if you don't reject me ... I'll find a way to take responsability myself . If you think I'm a terrible fiancee , then let me go ...

Kaname : No . I''ll never ... let you go again . If I am to let you go ... I'd rather kill you myself ... or have you kill me . "

Yuuki : " What ... ? "

Kaname : " I know ... we can pick up your Artemis rod at the next meeting . Then you can end me by your own hand ... "

Kaname kissed Yuuki . Yuuki blushes .

Yuuki : ' You're not being serious ... with me . "

Kaname : " You don't ... understand . I feel pleasure form anything you do . Whetever it is a cruel request , something distressing even the blade of death ... They all give color to my grey heart . "

Yuuki : " ... I never knew you had such peculiar tastes brother ."

Kaname : " You're listening to my blood flow , aren't you ? It's fine Yuki ... you want my blood , don't you ? Won't you ... grant me some distress , Yuki . I want you to drink only my blood . That ... is how you to take responsability .

Kaname caress Yuuki . Yuuki unbottom Kaname's upper bottom.

Yuuki : " I ... don''t mind what you do me either . "

Kaname : " I know . "

Kaname has kneeled to Yuuki .

Yuuki : " My strong ... beautiful Kaname . Wy would you want me ? "

Yuuki bites Kaname at his neck .

Kaname :" ... " Why " ... you ask ."

End of scene .

Wow ! I quoted half of that chapter .

There is a second mention of the same sentence .

From chapter 57 , vol. 12 , Viz ed. :

Kaname : " I'm off . And I left something on your desk . I wasn't sure if i should give it to you or not ... But I mean what I said . As proof ... You're free to use it any way you want . "

Yuuki remembers Kaname saying in the past

Kaname : " If I am to let you go ... or have you kill me ... by your own ... hand ... "

Yuuki ( talking ) : " Artemis ... "

Yuuki grips Artemis' box .

Yuuki : " Telling me ... to kill him . This again . "

Yuuki thinking : " But I'm the one who drove Kaname ... to say that . "

ah i don't quite understand in this all kaname is saying to kill himself,that means zekis are happy that yuuki will kaname one day and yuuki loves zero as well.ah.........

i think kaname is a very loving character,i guess there are so much hate from only vocal zero fans who try to make look kaname bad in front of new readers.before i didn't read it i thought kaname was a villain by comments of some stupid zekis.now i feel like doing this to them

Personally I think that every author loves all its characters.
However I agree with what mariangie has said above.

.. I read there before last days.. They are crying of disappointment/desperation how the story's going (I don't deny that there is big hole in Hino plot) and put their hatred on Kaname I just am speechless lol... no need to say, somehow reading their rant makes me laugh.


I happened to read a website (for teenage students) here (in my country) there is a thread of VK fans. All Comments are Zero/Zeki fans but Kaname won the poll ..... After reading they said that Zero is real hero and Yuuki loves him...they are sure of that, /me ...Well, every where is the same for Zero/Zeki fans ....They rant so much and be stubborn to accept that Zeki is downhill..

Totally agree! I do not know what else I can say about this Yume epic scene!

@Mariangie you’ve just reminded me how much Kaname was bashed about this wording of his, back in chapter 52 *sigh*

Thus I’m so happy that Hino-sensei has put these words on Yuuki’s mouth as well!!! I suppose that now is Yuuki’s turn to show her possessiveness and her maddening love for Kaname! Haha…

If this isn’t the ultimate confession of deep and passionate romantic love I do not know what it is … thus I cannot see by any means even if Kaname dies (which I do not believe) that Yuuki could ever forget about him and move on with her life.

This is so Shakesperian … if we cannot live together we will die together! I haven’t see anyone to doubting about Romeo and Juliet’s love or that Shakespeare didn’t want to portray and epic love with his work

She didn’t wanted to be killed from Zero’s hands for his sake but also as it is confirmed again now because she wanted to live together with Kaname <3333

There Yuuki couldn’t understand the meaning (foreshadowing) behind Aido-dono’s words for stopping Kaname and she was referring mostly on their relationship BUT I think this isn’t a random conversation from Hino … for me it was a foreshadowing in regards of Yuuki’s stance in the future:

First she has to stop him and by doing that she has to face him as his equal. This is why I believe (and I’m optimistic) that Yuuki will fulfil her role … cuz as the heroine she cannot afford to fail in this significant role … her position as the heroine is identified with her successfulness of stopping/saving Kaname proving synchronously herself.
This could be a mirror from the 1st arc … Kaname was the one who saved Yuuki and now is Yuuki’s turn to save him (*^_^*).

I see this scene as the follow up of what Yuuki said back in chapter 68 when she realized that Kaname left her (the wordings in the parenthesis are her thoughts)>>

Yuuki: (I cannot stand this) … after he had told me that we would be together from now on, on this long journey (I cannot really agree with him leaving me like this) … And after I thought of starting that step too …!
(And this time I want him to engrave the time we have been spending together in his memories …)

I guess it was at least an epic figuratively way from Hino to convey Yuuki’s tremendous need to fly on his side!

Many fans were expecting after the shocking death of Aido-dono that Yuuki would have fallen out of love for Kaname but as the above scene proved how wrong they were or how they underestimated Yuuki’s love for Kaname in the same way Yuuki proves over and over again till now where her heart belongs …
They expected (wishing) that after Yuuki heard Kaname’s claims about Zero’s drama she would give up on him … well surprise-surprise it didn’t happen AGAIN.
Despite that all she had to say is “I’m not throwing you away”!

That’s why all I see from these tragic but yet full of love scenes is that Hino is making Yuuki to prove all the declarations of love throughout the story in action this time. ^^

I think Zekis are just comfort to themself.If Zeki right now is better than Yume than why there is a line

Why in chapter 79 after hearing Zero, she still said her Kaname was there and she had to go to him? Was she in entrance?

For months i have read comments like yuuki won't forgive kaname for what he had done to zero, but voila - she met kaname and she didn't even mentioned zero's trauma.
In this chapter 81 yuuki is willing to kill kaname or die by his hands than him leaving her. these words of her from ch 81 are synomyme with not wanting to live without him=she chose death than a life without him.

Also during this manga yuuki showed signs of possessivity:

chapter 52 - My strong and beautiful Kaname

chapter 79 - My kaname, my kaname is here. Must go with him together

Yume love is not ambigous at all - they trully love each other and their love can be trully felt in their love declaration.
