Light novels

Two light novels created by Matsuri Hino and Ayuna Fujisaki were published in Japan by Hakusensha in 2008. Both novels feature two individual side-stories that use the characters of the manga, but are not specifically based on chapters from the series. The first novel, Vampire Knight: Ice Blue's Sin (ヴァンパイア騎士 憂氷の罪, Vanpaia Naito: Aisu Burū no Tsumi?), was published on April 5, 2008. The first story within the novel looks at events that occurred at Cross Academy in the year preceding Yuuki's arrival, while the second story details an accident that occurred while Zero was still in training to be a vampire hunter.

First Novel: Vampire Knight: Ice Blue's Sin

Ice Blue's Sin features mostly Aido falling in love with a girl from the day-class. The story takes place one year before the begginning of the manga, where the Night Class first arrives at the Cross Academy and before Yuuki and Zero become the guardians.
The day-class girl has a secret that only the night-class knows.

Matsuri Hino included in the novel beautiful drawings that give life to the story, here are some that were published and can be found all over the internet.

The Second Novel

The second novel, Vampire Knight: Noir's Trap (ヴァンパイア騎士 凝黒の罠, Vanpaia Naito: Nowāru no Wana?), was published on October 3, 2008.[11][13] It details some of the Cross Academy romances, as well as detailing the accident that happened when Kain and Ruka go to visit Shiki and Rima's modeling studio.

It also features events that took place and made Zero to attend senior high school, Shindo-san, the girl who tried to dance with Zero and also offered him chocolates on Valentine's day. The third story features moments of the nightclass as explained above.

No translation has been provided for the second novel, not yet.
